Rotimi Fadiya

During his time at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School, it was obvious that Rotimi Fadiya would go on to accomplish great things.

Rotimi pursued electrical and biomedical engineering at McMaster University and was heavily involved in several extracurricular activities. He not only showcased his athletic abilities on the McMaster rowing and ultimate frisbee teams, but also demonstrated his leadership skills with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Rotimi served as the McMaster president of NSBE for two terms as well as the Canada Zone Chair on the regional executive board.

Throughout university, Rotimi gained work experience through internships at companies including Walter Energy, Hydro One and Scotiabank.

In his final year, as part of his Capstone project, he helped develop The sKan, a non-invasive screening tool for melanoma. This project won awards at the McMaster Engineering Expo, the Forge start up competition and was most recently named the international winner of the James Dyson Award.

Rotimi is now working as a consulting analyst for Accenture – a leading global management consulting and professional services firm. He is also the co-founder of PRSM Medical, a biomedical startup, which is working to further develop The sKan and take it to market.
