Carleigh Aikins is a vocalist, painter, theatre designer, actress and instructor. While at St. Peter’s, Carleigh participated in all things artistic from drama, to painting, to singing. She was in all of the school’s musical productions including Grease, and played the leads in Jesus Christ Superstar and Once on this Island. In her final year, she represented her school with her paintings at the MacLaren Art Centre.

For several years, Carleigh worked with Talk Is Free Theatre in Barrie where she had her hand in just about everything. She was a performer, technician, designer, instructor, youth mentor and their director of education.

Her visual art has been sold to many collectors and she was commissioned by the City of Barrie to paint a 50 by 60 foot mural on the side of a building in the downtown.

As a vocalist, Carleigh recorded two albums with the band Fox Jaws, and was seen for several years touring and performing with Brett Caswell and The Marquee Rose, and Amos the Transparent.

She is currently working as one of two backing vocalists for Bahamas, an outfit that has toured North America and Europe extensively. They have played stages such as Royal Albert Hall, sharing the bill with acts such as Robert Plant, travelling to festivals like SXSW, and recently appearing on the Conan O’Brien Show.
