A pediatric specialist in New Orleans, Staci is passionate about service and global health. She is a neonatal doctor and lactation counselor, and actively participates in global health missions.
Dr. Staci Benoit is a dedicated pediatrician practicing neonatal and newborn medicine. Currently she works in a level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (the highest level of care available for premature and critically ill newborns) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her work is characterized not only by her commitment to patient care but also by her passion for research and quality improvement projects within the NICU.
Dr. Benoit earned an Honours Health Sciences degree with Dean's Honours from the University of Waterloo, and subsequently obtained her medical degree from Saint James School of Medicine in 2020. While in medical school she received an excellence in research reward as well as Dean's Honors. Her residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania provided her with specialized training in pediatrics.
Furthering her expertise, Dr. Benoit is a certified lactation counselor who has also conducted research on breastfeeding education in medicine. Her dedication to improving patient outcomes is evident in her involvement in research endeavors.
Beyond her clinical work and research, Dr. Benoit is passionate about conservation and global health, having participated in a medical mission to the Amazon in Peru and volunteered in sea turtle conservation efforts worldwide.
She credits her Catholic education for shaping her character and values. "My Catholic education helped me by prioritizing and fostering good character, as well as emphasizing important values like compassion, respect, and service."
