Foley Catholic School
Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School
Graduated 2010 and 2013
Scott and Shane built their careers in the trades through hands-on school programs before launching Stephen Contracting and Excavation. In addition to their business success, they have dedicated countless hours and resources to their community.
Scott and Shane’s journey began at Foley Catholic School in Brechin. They grew up surrounded by faith, family, and a close-knit community. While excelling in school and playing on various sports teams, they also served as altar servers at St. Andrew’s Parish. These early experiences taught them the value of service and kindness.
At Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School, these brothers became known for their generosity and strong moral character. Their kindness and sportsmanship stood out, especially on the school’s hockey teams. They also felt drawn to the trades, a path made possible through hands-on training at school. Cooperative education placements at Toromont Caterpillar and Holdaway Truck Centre gave them valuable experience.
After graduation—Scott in 2010 and Shane in 2013—they launched Stephen Contracting and Excavation. They built their business on hard work and community spirit. But their success isn’t just about business. They continue to give back to their community in countless ways.
Scott and Shane maintain the St. Andrew’s Parish cemetery and assist Ramara Township with critical projects. They sponsor local events and help those in need, often without charge. Whether clearing snow for seniors or assisting farmers in emergencies, they remain dedicated to their community. Their work and generosity reflect the values they have lived by since childhood.
