Rebecca is a storyboard artist who has worked at Nelvana Animation, Blue Sky and now at Pixar. Her credits include Nimona and Inside Out 2. She mentors future artists and helps select Pixar’s next interns, just as she was chosen years ago.
After graduating as an Ontario Scholar from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, Rebecca pursued her love of language and creativity at York University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Motivated to express herself through visual storytelling, she then completed a Bachelor of Arts in Animation at Sheridan College.
Rebecca launched her career in Toronto as a Storyboard Artist at Nelvana Animation, where she blended her talents in writing and art by visually translating scripts into scenes. Her skill and passion quickly caught the industry’s attention, and she was selected for a coveted internship at Pixar Animation Studios in San Francisco—one of only six chosen from thousands of applicants.
Following her internship, she joined Blue Sky Studios in New York, working on the Netflix feature Nimona. She navigated the challenges of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic until the studio was acquired and closed. Undeterred, she returned to the Pixar studio in San Francisco, where she currently works as a Storyboard Artist. Her most recent work can be seen on the big screen in the blockbuster hit, Inside Out 2.
Rebecca later mentored interns and co-instructed Pixar’s storyboard internship program, sharing her journey and expertise with aspiring artists. Most recently, she joined Pixar’s internship selection committee—a full-circle moment she finds deeply meaningful.
“I hope that any students who have dreams of pursuing careers in the arts can feel empowered to chase them. Someone has to make art; why shouldn’t it be you?”
